Off the coast of Southport, North Carolina, lies a small barrier island with a population of only 175 people. Many people come to the island to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the unique atmosphere it has to offer. There are no cars on the island, so the only way to get around is by golf cart or a bike. A ferry brings you to the island from Southport's Deep Point Marina, and then a tram will take you to your residence on the island.

Bald Head Island also has its fair share of food places as well. Mojo's On the Harbor, Sandpiper, and the Maritime Market are the most popular. Mojo's is located right in the Bald Head Island Marina, where you can eat right on the water. Sandpiper offers great breakfast options along with being the only ice cream shop on the island. Lastly the Market offers a variety of meals for breakfast and lunch but is also the only grocery store.

Lastly, Bald Head Island also has the oldest standing lighthouse in the state of North Carolina, Old Baldy. Old Baldy was built in 1817 and now visitors are able to climb its 108 steps and view the island from a whole new perspective. For more information on Old Baldy: https://www.oldbaldy.org/index.php
